The NH-D9L is a high-quality double tower CPU heatsink that has been designed to provide excellent silent cooling performance with only 110mm height. Its low profile (15 mm lower than the classic 9 cm tower heatsinks such as the NH-U9S) not only guarantees full 3U compatibility, but also makes the NH-D9L perfect for compact HTPCs and boxes with small form factors in which the air circulation is parallel to the base plate.
Thanks to its 95 x 95 mm dimensions, the NH-D9L clears the RAM and PCIe slots on all Intel ITX motherboards and most AMD. The excellent NF-A9 fan that is included allows automatic speed control through the PWM that ensures surprisingly quiet operation. In addition, an optional second NF-A9 fan can be added to improve performance in dual fan mode. Equipped with the reliable and professional SecuFirm2 ™ multisocket mounting system, the NH-D9L forms a compact assembly for application in confined spaces.
Low profile tower design for better airflow efficiency
While the majority of low profile heatsinks push the air towards the motherboard, the NH-D9L is a heatsink with a tower-like design that tilts parallel to it, allowing for greater airflow efficiency in boxes with front fans inlet and outlet outlets that create an air flow parallel to the motherboard.
While the classic 9 cm heatsinks with a height of up to 125 mm fit into the 4U mounting boxes, the reduced height of the NH-D9L, only 110 mm, allows its use in a 3U chassis. This makes it ideal for noise-sensitive 3U applications in fields such as audio or video processing.
100% RAM compatibility
Thanks to its dimensions of 95 x 95 mm, the NH-D9L does not protrude above the RAM slots in the current Intel motherboards and in most AMD. All this allows the user to have full access to the memory modules and guarantees 100% compatibility with high thermal diffusers or optional memory fans. *
100% compatibility with PCIe cards in mini-ITX
Many Intel-LGA115x-based mini-ITX motherboards feature PCIe slots that are located to the right of the 95 x 95 mm socket area. While larger heatsinks that exceed this zone can block the PCIe slot, the NH-D9L, thanks to its dimensions of 95 x 95 mm, provides full compatibility with PCIe cards, in ATX, microATX or ITX.
NF-A15 High quality NF-A9 fan
The highly optimized NF-A9 fan features the Noctua AAO frame, as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as the Flow Acceleration Channels, which allow to improve the known efficiency of the previous 92 mm Noctua models and obtain superior cooling performance of the NH-D9L. button
PWM support and adapter for noise reduction
The 92mm NF-A9 fan of the NH-D9L includes PWM support for convenient automatic speed control through the motherboard. In addition, the maximum fan speed can be reduced from 2000 to 1550 rpm and achieve quieter operation when using the Adapter for noise reduction.
Double fan (optional)
The NH-D9L includes an additional set of fan mounting clips so that users who want greater cooling performance can add an optional second NF-A9 to the front of the fin assembly. Using the Y-shaped cable, which is included with an NF-A9 PWM fan, both fans can be connected to a single CPU fan connector. **

Compatibility with old and new sockets
By complying with SecuFirm2 ™ standards, the NH-D9L can be compatible with older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets, by using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit that Noctua offers for free. If technically possible, Noctua will also provide the update kits for the new sockets.
