The Anti-Stall Knobs of the NF-S12A reduce the phenomenon of flow separation in situations of medium and high impedance thereby increasing the fan's stagnation range. This means that the NF-S12A is even more versatile than its renowned predecessor and can achieve better performance in heatsinks and radiators.
The frames with Advanced Acoustic Optimization AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimization) of Noctua have integrated anti-vibration panels in addition to proprietary Noctua technologies such as Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures that improve the efficiency of performance by fan noise.

With full support for automatic PWM speed control, the NF-S12A PWM uses the new Noctua-designed NE-FD1 PWM IC that integrates with Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD, Soft Switching Unit) technology. By providing smoother torque pulses, the SCD decreases the noise of PWM shifts and makes the fan run quieter at low speeds.
Extensible Wiring Options
The 20cm main short cable of the fan minimizes the cable mess in typical situations while the supplied 30cm extension cable allows extra reach when necessary. Both cables are fully lined.
The NF-S12A has the recognized Noctua second generation SSO optimized bearings. With SSO2, the rear magnet is located closer to the shaft to provide greater stability, precision and durability.
