The FLX version is capable of adjusting the speed of 5000/4400/3700 rpm through the noise reduction adapters provided to offer complete flexibility in its adjustment to optimize the fan performance to the maximum at an operation close to absolute silence. 40 x 20 mm size
When compared with the award-winning NF-A4x10 from Noctua, the NF-A4x20 is twice as wide, which allows to increase the static pressure performance and makes the NF-A4x20 ideal for demanding applications with high flow resistance.
Flow Acceleration Channels
The NF-A4x20 impeller has flow acceleration channels on the suction side. By accelerating the flow of air in the outer part of the most important blades, the separation of the flow in the suction side is reduced and, therefore, better efficiency and lower vortex noise are achieved.
Noctua's AAO (advanced acoustic optimization) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads, as well as the step-by-step entry design and internal surface microstructures (both owned by Noctua), which further enhance the sound efficiency and performance of the fan.
Step by step input design
Noctua's step-by-step entry design adds turbulence to the air inlet to facilitate the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal input noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity, especially in environments with restricted space.
Internal surface microstructures
With the ends of the fan blades colliding with the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures (internal surface microstructures), the separation of the flow from the suction side of the blades decreases significantly, resulting in a noise of passage between the lower blades, better air flow and greater pressure efficiency.
Integrated anti-vibration pads
The integrated anti-vibration pads, made of extra soft silicone, minimize the transmission of vibrations per minute, while maintaining compatibility with all standard screws and other mounting systems.
Smooth Commutation Drive 2
The latest version of the advanced SCD (Soft Switching Unit) system from Noctua ensures greater stability in operation by eliminating torsion variations and exchange noise. This makes the fan remarkably quiet, even at a short distance.
The NF-A4x20 has the second generation, even more optimized, of the renowned SSO bearings from Noctua, with proven efficiency. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the shaft to provide better stabilization, accuracy and durability.
3 speed settings for maximum flexibility
With speed settings at 5000, 4400 and 3700 RPM via the included Reduced and Ultra-Reduced Sound Level adapters, the NF-A4x20 FLX (flexibility) can be adjusted for superior airflow or maximum silence.
OmniJoin adapter set
Many devices equipped with 40 mm fans use proprietary fan connectors, so the NF-A4x20 includes a Noctua OmniJoin adapter set. Simply cut the original fan cable, secure it to the adapter using the included 3M Scotchlok ™ connectors, and you can connect the NF-A4x20 to the proprietary fan connectors.
Extensive wiring options
The 20 cm main short fan cable minimizes cable buildup in typical applications, while the included 30 cm extension cable provides greater reach when necessary. The two cables are completely meshed.
